Brogue Derby shoe made using our ‘Viper’ Goodyear welted rubber sole. Cobra features dark brown hand-painted calf leather, and is made in India. These hand-painted shoes are unique in the way they are finished, with colour added in layers over a natural base to create a deep rich and truly individual patina.
Please note: Only our water-based creams should be used to moisturise the leather and retain depth of colour. Any solvent-based wax or cream will strip painted leather finishes and should be avoided.

English made Men’s shoes (and boots) are generally made in fittings E, F, G and H and these can be classified simplistically as follows:

E = Narrow
F = Regular
G = Wide
H = Extra Wide

The bulk of our styles are made in F fitting, as statistics show that worldwide this is the most appropriate fitting for a majority of males, but we also offer a good selection of G fitting shoes.

The Last

Viper

Developed for use with the Loake ‘Viper’ EVA sole, the Viper last features a classic English design of standard length, with a rounded toe shape. This is a G fitting last, and as such will offer more room within the shoe for customers with wider feet. Customers who normally wear F width styles may wish to consider a half size smaller with this last.

Brogue

No English gentleman’s wardrobe is complete without a pair of handcrafted Goodyear welted brogues. With punched holes (originally designed to allow water to drain from the shoe), choose from a wide selection of Leather or Rubber-soled options in Oxford or Derby constructions, in a vast array of colours and styles.
